This Rhone grape is very rarely used to make varietal wines, making this 100% Carignan quite exceptional in many ways.  The 85 year-old, dry-farmed Mendocino wines bring an undeniable exotic old-worldiness reminiscent of nothing we’ve ever tasted before.  Smoky bacon and sinister fruit abound with cigar box, Provencal herbs, oiled leather and mahogany.  The lingering soft tannic finish makes this wine refined in its rugged manly character.  Pair this wine with a fine cigar.
