This is the second release of our 100% Syrah from the famed Alisos Canyon Vineyard in Santa Barbara County. Meaning “stains the glass” in French, the deep, dark “Tache le Verre” was aged for 20 months in 100% new French Oak. It displays cool-climate Syrah characteristics and can be described as an “iron fist in a velvet glove.” The nose is a meld of candy apple, anise, cinnamon, caramel, baking spices, cocoa, and red cherry. The palate is dominated with red cherries, cocoa, and a dash of white pepper. It is sexy and slightly smoky with subtle oak.
